Plugin Updates

Updates to 3rd party plugins that came bundled with the theme are releases along with the theme updates. Updating plugins is a manual process, and instructions are as follows:

Steps to follow in order to update the plugins via cPanel:

  • Upload “plugins.zip” to your WordPress content directory (/wp-content/)
  • Rename the current “plugins” directory to something else, like “plugins-old”
  • Extract the zip plugins file to the current directory (/wp-content/) – the plugins directory will be created automatically
  • Copy your own plugins or translations from the old plugins directory
  • If everything is ok, you can delete the old plugins directory

Steps to follow in order to update the plugins via FTP:

  • Unzip “plugins.zip” on your device
  • Connect with FTP and rename the current plugins directory to something like “plugins-old”
  • Upload the new “plugins” directory that you have just unzipped to the WordPress themes directory (/wp-content/)
  • Copy your own plugins or translations from the old plugins directory If everything is ok, you can delete the old plugins directory

Automatic plugin updates:

Although not mandatory as we regularly release plugin updates, you have the possibility to purchase licenses directly from the plugin authors, and thereby enabling automatic updates for the same. If you have the means to support plugin authors we highly encourage it as by doing so you are contributing to the maintenance and future development of the plugins your website/business relies on.
